Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Love!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr.
& JohnArchambault. Illustrated by Lois Ehlert.
We have had the book, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom for a while now but my two year old has developed a a renewed interest and fascination for it. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is a wonderful story, perfect for learning the alphabet and letter recognition. Here are a few activities we have dug up from here and there to while away our afternoons:

Letter Printing (involves finger paint so yes, clean up will probably not be minimal!) We did this in a play date class and the kids loved it (I had themeach choose the letters in their names to print around a paper coconut tree, which they did but then wanted to keep going with random letters!) One of the moms mentioned to me that her kids kept asking her to do "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" all weekend!

We made a felt coconut tree which we put on the fridge and used magnetic alphabet letters to tell the story. My son frequently goes back to fridge to "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" while I make dinner in the evenings, in the months that we have been reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom - Daniel has learnt all his letters and is now moving on to a bit of phonics.

I will keep posting photos of any additional Chicka Chicka Boom projects we do to our Facebook page, so please check it out, give us a like and if you love us, like our page and if you really love us, spread the love and hit share!🙂
